After months of work behind the scenes by the SU, the DCU Community Garden is finally set to reopen in time for Green Week 2026 (2nd - 6th March). We invite all students to join us for a workshop in the community garden facilitated by Sharon Harvey, an experienced community garden manager.
These workshops will run weekly on Mondays from 2nd March to 23rd March, but as part of Green Week this extra workshop will run on Wednesday 4th March. You will learn all about topics such as seed sowing, propagation, gardening for biodiversity, organic vegetable growing, composting, caring for fruit orchards and more!
✨ What's happening? ✨
We will meet at the bottom of the Steps in the U Building and walk together to the Community Garden, which is located behind the library. The workshop take place in the polytunnel of the gardens led by the facilitator. It will involve light gardening work, all materials provided. However, it is ESSENTIAL that all attendants wear appropriate hiking or wellington boots and a long-sleeved top. No students will be allowed entry to the gardens without this protective clothing.
All students are welcome! This workshop is FREE, no materials or prior experience necessary.
